About Chrysler Voyager
The fourth generation of the Chrysler Voyager was launched in 2000 and it was available in two wheelbases, to offer more room for up to seven passengers.
It was the first generation of the Voyager that crossed the Atlantic, landing in Europe with specially designed engines. For the Europeans, the thirsty 3.8-liter unit was not a really preferred option, so Chrysler employed the Italian engine manufacturer VM Motory to deal with that issue. But even in that version the car didn't last too long on the market. The MPV market was split between the French, Italians. and German car-makers.
From the outside, the Chrysler Voyager had a mature look with a modern front fascia and its typical grille with horizontal slats. The raked windshield looked as a normal follow of the hood angle. The unibody style vehicle had the Voyager name for the short wheelbase and Grand Voyager for the longer version.
Inside, it offered room for up to seven in the Grand Voyager version. To ease the access, the side sliding doors were electrically operated, as well as the big liftgate. There were a lot of options for comfort in the Chrysler Voyager, including climate control, CD-player, leather seats, and cupholders for everyone in the room.
Under the hood there were two diesel options and a 3.3-liter V6 for the European market. In the U.S., the biggest version featured a 3.8-liter unit. The standard transmission, depending on the engine, was either a 5-speed manual or a 4-speed automatic.
