About Maserati Grecale GT

The SUV segment grows daily, and Maserati is catching up with the wave. If we look back to 2016, when Maserati introduced the Levante SUV, the world was shocked. Still, many were curious, and this brought some money into the company's accounts. Maserati continues the story in 2022 with a new performance SUV called Grecale, a 2023 model year.

In a crowded crossover market, the Italian carmaker developed a sporty, luxurious design to bring something more spectacular than its competitors. As you would expecti, Maserati is Porsche Macan`s most feared competitor. The Grecale seems to be a cosmopolitan, modern, timeless Italian. Though it is based on the same Giorgio platform shared with Stelvio, Giulia, and the Grand Cherokee.

Suppose Levante is a mid-size luxury SUV. What about the Grecale? Which looks more like a scaled-down Levante from the outside? Maserati kept the purity of shapes, free of ostentation, making it recognizable thanks to its lines on the hood and the brand-specific triangular headlights.

Maserati says they have the best in class interior roominess, and we say it is spacious enough for five adults to travel a few hours. The cabin quality and design are like a well-dressed Italian. The quality of soft leather, carbon fiber trims, and matte wood makes it very attractive.

The classical interior is combined with a futuristic 12.3`` TFT Cluster, two central angled displays of 12,3`` and 8,8`` divided by the digital gear shifter. Last but not least, a digital clock styled like a smartwatch adorned the dashboard design atop the center stack.

Let us see what about the performance. Under the hood, Grecale features only the latest engine capabilities. There are a few versions available for everyones tastes, the base version with open rear differential having 300hp or 330hp mild hybrid propulsion with a mechanical rear differential.

After these comes the super powerful yet efficient 530hp V6 Nettuno engine, wich is the same as found on the MC20. If on the MC20 you would expect more grawls from the engine and less turbo noise, on the Grecale this just fits perfectly, making it the sort of SUV that combines comfort with sportiness. Some race track features such as the CORSA mode with Launch Control are available on this version that will give you an unforgettable experience.

We must mention that the air springs and active dampers are perfectly fit, but they are not enogh to give that luxury car comfort while riding, expecially on the big, heavy 21 inch wheels. Considering all of these if you are the person who is more on sport version of this car and you are a bit less on the comfort side, this might be a good option.

For sure this care will make you feel noticed anywhere, all depends on what are you looking for. The Grecale as you would expect it`s more sporty than comfy.
