About Buick Rendezvous

The 2002 Buick Rendezvous was the cousin of the Pontiac Aztek, and it was the much-needed commercial success for the Buick brand, that brought young customers in its portfolio.

The Rendezvous was the first Buick truck built since 1923 and it featured a complex platform shared with the Chevrolet Venture MPV. It was followed by the Buick Enclave.

On the outside, the black grille with vertical slats was guarded by big headlights that were extended over the hood with the turn-signal lamps. The oval shape on the front fascia incorporated a plate with the BUICK name on the hood. A sculptured side profile with plastic bush-guards on the lower side protected the bodywork against shopping carts or bushes. In the rear, a full-length taillight was crossing the back of the car, over the tailgate.

Inside, the 2002 Rendezvous featured up to three-row seats, offering room for up to seven passengers. Inside, the car gave up to the usual wood details and used metal trims for the door panels and dashboard. A four dial instrument cluster with a silver background and blue needles was offered on the whole range. It was offered with standard front bucket seats. A second row with captain seats was available.

The 2002 Buick Rendezvous was offered with V6 engines, front and all-wheel-drive, and exclusively with a 4-speed automatic transmission.
